Data Entry Assists |
One of the most productive things an application developer can do for a user is to minimize the possibility of accidentally entering bad information into a database. Field Rules provide many techniques for insuring that you get good data: including look-up lists, double entry, uniqueness tests, and validation. This screen shows a couple of expressions that tell a user when a telephone number is incorrectly formatted.

The Validation tab of the Field Rules Editor allows you to create expressions that test data input into fields. If a validation fails, Alpha Five will automatically prevent the value from being entered into your table and display your error message.
