Will this product work 'out of the box' with all web servers?

The E-Commerce Application requires that the Alpha Five Application Server is installed and running. But if you already have your website hosted someplace - and your web host is unable or unwilling to install the Alpha Five Application Server - you can always host just the E-Commerce portion of your site on a different server running the Alpha Five Application Server.

Can I add just the cart to my current website - and if so, how easy would that be?

If you have an existing web site, all you would need to do is change the look of the pages in the package, add your data to the tables provided, and then add a link from some page to the first page you want the user to see in the e-commerce area.

If you don't have certain features such as "specials" you could just remove those pages from the navigation and open on a products page.

The Alpha portion of your web site would have to be hosted on a server running the Alpha Application Server. However, this could be a different server than the rest of the site if you already have that running on a host.

There are a number of hosting companies that could help you with this. What many people have done is to start with this program and customize it for their needs, rather than trying to pull out pieces of it to add to another project.

It is much easier to build around the existing program and then modify the pages to fit your design style and look and add any new pages you would like to use, such as a home page. The program makes extensive use of Alpha Five components, and you can easily change the look by modifying an existing style sheet in our style sheet builder and them applying it to the pages and components. The public pages are all build around a basic template and you could certainly remove most of that template html and replace it with your own page layouts to match other pages in your web site.
